The Bank of India (BOI) has rolled out a fresh employment notification (Project No. 2026-27/01) to recruit Credit Officers under its General Banking Officer (GBO) cadre. Out of the 779 total openings, the bank is filling 475 backlog vacancies alongside new positions.

The online registration portal has officially gone live today, June 30, 2026. Qualified finance and banking professionals can submit their applications through the bank’s career portal until the deadline on July 20, 2026.

3. Updated Exam Pattern and Final Selection

Bank of India has revised its exam syllabus for this cycle, eliminating traditional Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning sections. The process now focuses strictly on specialized competencies:

  1. Online Written Examination: A 120-minute computer-based test comprising 125 objective questions.
    • English Language: This section is strictly qualifying; marks do not count toward the final merit list.
    • Professional Knowledge: The primary testing segment covering credit management and banking operations. Performance here determines shortlisting for the next phase.
    • Negative Marking: Incorrect answers carry a penalty of 0.25 marks.
  2. Personal Interview: Candidates who pass the online exam cutoffs will be invited for a 100-mark face-to-face evaluation to decide the final selection.

4. How to Apply Online

  • Step 2: Click on the link for “Recruitment of Credit Officers in GBO Stream Project No. 2026-27/01” and select “Apply Online”.

  • Step 4: Log in to your application dashboard, fill out your employment history, and input your academic records.
