Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for UTET 2024, candidates must have specific educational qualifications for either primary or upper primary levels:
For UTET-I (Primary Level, Classes I-V):
- You finished high school with at least half the marks and are doing or have finished a 2-year course to teach younger kids (D.El.Ed).
- You finished high school with almost half the marks (45%) and are doing or have finished a 2-year course to teach younger kids (D.El.Ed) as told by the government’s teaching rules.
- You have a university degree with at least half the marks and a one-year course to teach (B.Ed).
For UTET-II (Upper Primary Level, Classes VI-VIII):
- In the final year of a 2-year program to teach young children (Diploma in Elementary Education)
- A graduate with at least 50% marks who is in the final year of a 1-year teacher training program (Bachelor of Education)
- Someone with at least 50% marks in high school who is in the final year of a 4-year program to teach young children (Bachelor of Elementary Education) or a 4-year teacher training program (BA/B.Sc. Ed or BA Ed/B.Sc. Ed)
Application Fee Details
The application fee for UTET 2024 changes based on the category of the candidates and the number of papers they wish to appear for:
For General/OBC candidates:
- ₹600 for one paper (either UTET-I or UTET-II)
- ₹1000 for both papers (UTET-I and UTET-II)
For SC/ST/PH candidates:
- ₹300 for one paper
- ₹500 for both papers
