Indian Engineering Services Selection Process
The job application has four parts. Each part checks if you know enough about engineering, can solve problems, and are a good fit for the Indian government’s engineering jobs.
The first part is a screening test with two multiple-choice papers. The first paper tests your knowledge of general studies and engineering. The second paper tests your knowledge of your specific engineering field. You must pass this part to move on to the next part.
The Main Exam is the second part of the selection process. It consists of two written tests that are specific to the candidate’s chosen engineering field.
The Personality Test is an interview that is worth 200 points. It assesses the candidate’s personality traits, such as communication skills and leadership qualities. The panel judges not only the candidate’s technical knowledge but also their ability to solve problems, their ethical standards, and their commitment to public service.
The Medical Examination is the last step. It checks if the candidates are physically and medically fit for different engineering jobs in the government.
