Eligibility Requirements
In order to be considered for these roles, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Educational Qualifications
For Primary Teacher Position: The higher secondary test must have been passed by the applicant with at least 50% of the possible points from an accredited board. They should also have graduated from an accredited university or institute with a two-year diploma in elementary education (D.El.Ed.) or a four-year diploma in elementary education (B.El.Ed.) with at least 50% of the possible points. Additionally, candidates need to have completed a two-year Elementary Education Diploma program (D.El.Ed).
For Upper Primary Teacher Positions: The following qualifications must be fulfilled in order for candidates to apply for a position as an upper primary teacher:
- Graduation degree from a recognized university.
- Hold a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
- Possess a one-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) with a minimum of 50% marks.
OR
- possess a four-year diploma from an accredited university or institute in B.A., B.Sc.Ed., or B.El.Ed. with at least 50% of the total points possible.
Age Limit
The age limit for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) is an important consideration for aspiring teachers in the state of Odisha, India.
