Orissa High Court Recruitment 2024, Check OHC ASO, Stenorapher Notice, Eligibility Criteria, Important Dates, Selection Process and Apply Online: Applications for the positions of Junior Stenographer (JS) and Assistant Section Officer (ASO) are being accepted by the Orissa High Court from qualified applicants. On May 14, 2024, a notice listing 182 openings for Junior Stenographer and ASO (Assistant Section Officer) positions within the Court’s structure was posted online.

The official announcement states that the application registration period opened on May 20, 2024. Candidates are advised that the deadline for applying to these posts is June 18, 2024. A total of 182 openings for ASO and JS jobs have been declared with the release of the Orissa High Court Recruitment Notification under Advt Nos. 02/2024 and 03/2024, of which 147 are for ASO and the rest 35 are for Junior Steno. It is recommended that candidates review the eligibility requirements for these opportunities prior to applying.

OHC ASO / Jr Steno Jobs – Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • For Assistant Section Officer: A bachelor’s degree in any field, or its equivalent, from an accredited university or other institution, is required of candidates. For these roles, a strong understanding of computer applications is also necessary.
  • For Junior Stenographer: Applicants may apply for these positions if they have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline or its equivalent from an accredited college or institution. In addition, they are proficient in computer applications and can write 40 words per minute in typewriting and 80 words per minute in shorthand.

Age Limit

As of May 14, 2024, candidates must be at least 21 years old, with a maximum age limit of 32 years. Candidates must have been born on May 13, 2003, or later, and May 15, 1992, or earlier. Reservable categories are subject to a relaxation of the upper age limit, as follows:

Registration Fee Details

The registration fee for candidates interested in these positions is ₹500. This charge is not negotiable or refundable. There will be no reimbursement under any circumstances. This amount can be paid using a credit card, debit card, net banking, and other online payment methods.

Note: SC/ST and PwD category candidates are exempted from paying the registration fee.

Orissa High Court Positions Selection Process

For Assistant Section Officer (ASO)

  • Preliminary Exam: The General Knowledge, General English, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude graduation course subjects will administer the preliminary exam.
  • Main Exam: Calls for the Main Exam will be made for those who met the requirements for the Preliminary Exam.
  • Computer Application Test: This qualifying test is made up of two papers: a theory test and a skill test.
  • Viva-voce: Qualified candidates will be called for the Viva-voce following the completion of the preceding phase. The test scores obtained here will be added to the Main Exam.

For Junior Stenographer (JS)

  • Qualifying Test in English Subject: The test will be written and will assess the candidate’s knowledge in a specific subject.
  • Computer Application Test: There will be a theory portion and a skill test.
  • Skill Test: This assessment, which carries a 100-point score, is meant to evaluate one’s shorthand and typing speed.
