Courses Offered Through AILET 2025
The AILET 2025 will be the entrance exam for the following programs at NLU Delhi:
- Undergraduate Program:

- Ph.D. in Social Sciences: A program focusing on interdisciplinary research in Political Science, Sociology, Criminology, and Economics.
Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate Program (B.A.LL.B. and B.Com.LL.B.)
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed their Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2) or equivalent examination with at least 45% marks (42% for OBC and 40% for SC/ST candidates).
- Appearing Candidates: Students appearing for their 12th standard examinations in 2025 are also eligible to apply.
- Foreign Nationals/OCI/PIO: Candidates in these categories are exempt from AILET but must have at least 65% marks in their qualifying examination.
Postgraduate Program (LL.M. and LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law)
- Educational Qualification: Applicants must hold an LL.B. or equivalent law degree with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates). Candidates appearing for their final year LL.B. exam in 2025 are also eligible.
- Foreign Nationals/OCI/PIO: Candidates in this category are exempt from AILET, and admissions will be based on their academic record and performance in group discussions and interviews.
Ph.D. Program
- Ph.D. in Law: Candidates must have an LL.M. degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).
- Ph.D. in Social Sciences: Candidates should have both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in a relevant discipline, with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC categories).
Application Process for AILET 2025
The application for AILET 2025 is entirely online, and candidates can apply through the official NLU Delhi website. Follow these steps to complete your application:
Step 1: Registration
- Visit the official website: www.nludelhi.ac.in or nationallawuniversitydelhi.in.
- Click on the “Apply Online” link and register using your email address and mobile number.
Step 2: Fill in the Application Form
- After successful registration, log in using your credentials to access the application form.
- Fill in all personal details, including name, address, contact information, and educational qualifications.
- Select the course you are applying for (B.A.LL.B., B.Com.LL.B., LL.M., Ph.D.).
- Choose your preferred test city from the available options. If fewer than 100 candidates choose a city, you will be allotted your second or third preference.
Step 3: Upload Required Documents
- Upload a recent passport-sized photograph and signature in the required format.
- Upload any other necessary documents, such as caste certificates (if applicable), proof of disability for PwD candidates, or any additional documents for foreign nationals.
Step 4: Payment of Application Fee
- Pay the application fee online using net banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI. The fee structure is as follows:
- General Category: ₹3500
- SC/ST/PwD: ₹1500
- BPL (SC/ST only): Exempt from the application fee.
Step 5: Final Submission
- Review all the details you have entered, ensuring they are accurate.
- Submit the application form. After submission, a confirmation email will be sent to the registered email address.
AILET Exam Cities
The AILET 2025 exam will be held in many cities across India, including Bengaluru, Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and others. When you fill out the application form, you’ll need to choose the city where you want to take the exam.
AILET Exam Pattern
The AILET 2025 will consist of the following components for each program:
For B.A.LL.B. and B.Com.LL.B.
- Sections: English, Logical Reasoning, and General Knowledge & Current Affairs.
- Total Marks: 150 marks.
- Duration: 2 hours.
For LL.M.
- Sections: 100 multiple-choice questions and a 50-mark essay-type question on law.
- Total Marks: 150 marks.
- Duration: 2 hours.
For Ph.D.
- Sections: 100 marks from Research Aptitude and Legal Research Methodology, followed by an interview.
Admission Procedure
- AILET Merit: Admission to all programs is based on merit, determined by the AILET score. For foreign nationals and OCI/PIO candidates, merit is based on their academic performance, group discussion, and interview.
- Counseling: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for counseling based on their performance in AILET.
- Final Selection: Admission will be finalized after document verification and payment of the admission fee.
