Five years of training at the Indian Military Academy are provided to the candidates under this system; this includes one year of basic training, three years of technical training, and one year of post-commission training. Following training, the candidates will receive a permanent commission in the Indian Army along with an engineering degree. From among the aspirants, Technical Officers will be chosen and trained in accordance with Indian Army specifications.
Required Capabilities for Technical Entry Scheme
- Education Qualification: Candidates must have passed 12th or its equivalent from a recognised board with at least 60% marks and appeared in JEE Mains.
- Age Limit: Candidates should be 16.5 years and not more than 19.5 years. The upper age limit of the candidates will be as per the government rules.
- Marital Status: Only unmarried male candidates can apply for this scheme.
