A recruitment drive for exceptional athletes to join the Indian Army as Havildars and Naib Subedars under the Sports Quota Entry, Intake 02/2024, has been announced. Applications must be sent to the Army Sports Control Board’s official address in the approved format, including with the required academic and athletic certifications. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
The minimum requirement for candidates is matriculation from an accredited board or university.
Age Limit
Applicants have to be between the ages of 17.5 and 25. The precise range of eligible dates of birth is October 1, 1999, to September 30, 2006.
Sports Achievements
For Havildar:
- Junior and senior medal winners who compete for their state at the federal level or represent their nation abroad.
- winner of a medal at the Youth and Khelo India Games.
For Naib Subedar:
- winner of medals at the World Cup, Asian Games, Asian Championships, and Commonwealth Games.
- twice represented India in the Olympics, World Cup, Commonwealth Games, or Asian Games.
Selection Process
The selection process includes:
- Physical Fitness Test: Candidates will undergo a 1.6 km run, 9 feet ditch, and zig-zag balance test.
- Physical Standards Test: Height and chest expansion as per regional standards.
- Skill Test: Specific to the sports discipline.
- Medical Examination: Conducted at the trial site by the Army Medical Team.
