Eligibility Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or Part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in Part II of the third schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in Section 13 (3) of the Act).
- The Central/State Medical Council registration is a requirement.
- For a postgraduate degree in broad specialty, such as an MD, MS, or DNB in the relevant field, or an equivalent degree.
- The prerequisite for a super speciality is either DM/M.Ch/DNB in the relevant super speciality or MD/MS/DNB in a related broad speciality.
Age Limit
The candidates’ maximum age is 45 years old, with a 5-year relaxation for SC/ST candidates and a 3-year relaxation for OBC candidates. Candidates who are physically disabled will be eligible for the following age relaxation:
- For General category candidates: 10 years
- For OBC category candidates: 13 years
- For SC/ST category candidates: 15 years
