May 2024 marked the opening of the AFCAT 2024 online application window. The deadline for completing the application registration is June 28, 2024; online registration will open on May 30, 2024. 304 positions will be filled by the company through this recruitment effort.

AFCAT 2024 Vacancies – Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification Required
Flying Branch:
- 50% or higher in math and physics at the 10+2 level.
- graduation from a three-year program with at least 60% of the possible points.
- a four-year BE/B Tech degree with at least 60% of the possible points, or the equivalent.
- Applicants who have earned at least 60% or the equivalent in the Section A and B exams for Associate Membership in the Aeronautical Society of India or the Institution of Engineers (India).
Ground Duty (Technical) Branch:
- Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics): Minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Maths at 10+2 level and a four-year degree in Engineering/Technology with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical): Minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Maths at 10+2 level and a four-year degree in Engineering/Technology with a minimum of 60% marks.
Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch:
- Administration & Logistics: Graduation (three years degree course) with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
- Accounts Branch: B. Com degree or equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Education: Post-graduation with 50% marks and Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Meteorology: B.Sc. with Physics and Mathematics with a minimum of 60% marks or four-year Graduation in Engineering/Technology with a minimum of 60% marks.
Age Limit
- Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as of January 1, 2025 (Born between January 2, 2002, and January 1, 2006). The upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable for up to 26 years.
- Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: 20 to 26 years as of January 1, 2025 (Born between January 2, 2000, and January 1, 2006).
Selection Process
A written exam is the first step in the AFCAT 2024 selection process, and those who pass move on to the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) testing. Based on the results of the combined written exam and AFSB testing, the final merit list is created.
Written Examination
Objective-type questions covering General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, and Military Aptitude Test comprise the AFCAT written exam. There is a two-hour exam duration and a maximum score of 300.
AFSB Testing
Those who pass the written exam will be invited to the AFSB testing, which consists of the following:
- Stage-I: Officer Intelligence Rating Test along with Picture Perception and Discussion Test.
- Stage-II: Psychological test, Group Tests, and Interview.
- For Flying Branch: Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS).
Application Fee
When submitting an online application, candidates must pay an application fee of ₹550. You can pay the fee online with Internet Banking, Debit Cards, or Credit Cards.
